Art Post!

Well I thought this would be appropriate.

I want a yellow rain jacket. Used to have one when I was a kid.

Bare with me on the last post, I was totally tired and deranged and should not have written while I was so sleep deprived.

Yes well while my awful disgusting and very evil 5 megapixel camera refuses to give me any photos, let alone decent ones, of art I have finished over my winter vacation, and I can post pictures of my next subjects.

This will be an acrylic painting. When I finally get the materials I need, what I'll do is take my guitar pick and trace it, and cover the canvas with rows of the outlines of the pick, and then probably trace the outline of the guitar very very lightly, and paint inside the tracings of the picks. This piece is sort of inspired by one that I saw at the MOMA in August when my mother and I were visiting my Uncle on the east coast. I hope that it turns out. I might not start it this break, simply because I have so many other things (most all of my song interpretation pieces and studying for my honors history class) that I need to get done by Sunday evening.

This is the French Horn that I stole from the art room (well, not exactly, the sub said I could take it, but you know.) Isn't it beautiful? Even though it looks like somebody had batting practice with it? I don't know why it's so beat up. But I think it is completely and totally amazing. It will be a drawing. I really massive one, too. Done on some sort of yellowed or off-white paper. I am especially excited to finish this one. This is one of the good ones, so I'm going to take my time to make sure that it's perfect.

And now, I must go draw in the Octopus for my Octopus's Garden drawing. C'est tout!

Full of Stealth

Wish I could have gone to Target yesterday. Ah well. I haven't any money for me, just other people.

Just thought this was sort of... interesting. Yes indeed!

Red post later.
Wait and see.

The House That Got Away

We are staying.

When my father and his friend went to mitigate the basement floors of the property, they found that it wasn't precisely as perfect of a house as ol' Greg made us think it was. Thank goodness that we hadn't yet signed the lease.

He says that my room was really the only great part of the house.

(the bright coral walk-in closet which would have been mine...)

That, and the bay window in the study.

The pool's engine is broken there, which was something my dad said he wouldn't fix, so the pool would've been useless. The German foreign exchange student we are having stay with us in May still would not have her own room. The bathrooms were still tiny. This needs be mentioned: I did not cry big and salty tears when I heard the news.

Now, we just have a few boxes to unpack. And I quite like it here now that I know just how messed up that house was. My rooms are painted white now, but I don't really mind. And I'm still near the Goodwill, and the very convenient bus stop that takes me right to Buffalo Exchange.  I'm just glad I'm living in a warm and clean house, and that we have enough room to have the whole famdamnly over for christmas day. That's actually very exciting, because we've always had to drive to the land of far away for the holiday festivities, and when you have to drive for hours after a christmas eve party, you don't get home until very very late.

In other news...

The artistic going has been--well not exactly tough, but just a little bit frustrating. My camera is taking really fuzzy pictures whenever I attempt to take a picture of new shirts and outfits with no flash. So, it is only natural that I ask for a decent working camera.

Right?

My folks gave me crap about being "completely ungrateful", that's why I asked.  At any rate I hope that my mum gets me my own copy of 500 Days of Summer, which comes out this Tuesday! ...or, finalement, Amelie! ...or some more Polaroid film. But, I'm mostly excited to make fudge and cookies for my fam and play games with my cousins on Christmas eve. That is the absolute best. Only a few days away until Christmas!

This Weekend

This weekend, me and my family will be doing a lot of moving boxes and furniture to our new house. If for some reason there is no Sunday post, I apologize, and I will post one as soon as I get the chance!

As promised!

Sunday

(Right now I'm having trouble with my computer, along with a few other things. No photos yet. I'm just plain ashamed of myself. The camera cord is lost yet again, the cherry on top of the ...I'm not going to finish this, it wasn't meant to be a pun, and  I really hate puns... would be that pictures on this desktop now are not loading onto blogger.)

Here are some of my highlights for this weekend:

a) Today I went to see the OBT performance of The Nutcracker in Edmunds. It was very charming! There were two special guests, the (unbelievably skinny) Sayaka Ohtaki, and Guixen Chu, both International Ballet dancers. Oh and News! They are both preparing for the International Ballet Competition. Do male and female dancers compete against one another? They danced together today. If they are going to compete against each other, I wonder what that was like. Chu seemed to really enjoy Ohtaki. Ohtaki is like the many professional ballet dancers I've seen though. Looks very starved, looks very high maintenance. Despite part of the backdrop coming down (I didn't think it was all that funny to be honest, I know your supposed to laugh or think it's funny, but I didn't) it was a great show.
You know what I love? Male russian ballet dancers. This one, he was graceful, but really nervous and goofy looking. I swear it, all russian male ballet dancers are really all the same. He was my favorite part though. Especially his russian-style breakdancing, that was just plain awesome, with all of those kids with little black hats and blue sashes. It was great. I think that Babushka would have laughed a little bit.

b) I spent the night at a friends house and I don't think I've had that much fun In a long time. I know people wouldn't deem this acceptable behavior, but they can just shove it right up their arses. We danced and did a sing-along to every track on the special features menu for Mamma Mia, and it was really fun! We also whipped up a batch of cookie dough. We just ate it. We even played a little RockBand, which was really cool because they have what I would consider really really amazing life-changing wonderful wonderful songs and artists. Nirvana, in a word. We watched the Monk finale. I've seen 5 episodes total, but it was enough to leave me with tears in my eyes. I recommend everybody watch Monk. I promise, It's absolutely worth your time!

c) We found a 1929 fixer-upper (more like cleaner-upper) and it is beautiful. This means many things. First off, we have a pool. A REALLY NICE POOL. Secondly, I have the best room in the house. Window seat, black six paned windows, hard floors that I won't completely ruin with paint and graphite when I work on art projects, and a walk in closet with a window and curtains. Thirdly, I ride a bus to school. Fourthly, I live near this guy I know who lives in  beautiful house and cooks absolutely amazing food and we can actually hang out over the summer and what not, along with a few other friends of mine. Fifth, we hang our stcokings over a fireplace on Christmas. Six, everybody comes over to our house for christmas from now on because it's spacious and really just the nicest. Oh yes and lucky number seven my parental units decided I can have people over on a regular regular basis: no paper thin walls, but lots of privacy, a lot of room. Life is good.

Oath

a) I will try my very best to be consistent. Sunday. And on special days.

b) I will not dare to try and be poetic. Who has time for that, anyways...

c) I'm not much for boasting. I am likely to post bits here and there about purchases and clothing and such, but I'm really here to share my art and my ideas. They go further.
